For your safety you will be shown how to use your scooter or wheelchair. When you and the staff are confident that you can handle the vehicle safely you are free to use it as you please. Please note that all scooter users must be aged 18 or over. You will be asked to sign a declaration that you have no medical condition such as epilepsy which could impair your ability to safely operate the vehicle.
We ask that you keep within a set boundary which incorporates Central Southport, the Marine Lake area, Pleasureland and Victoria Park (Flower Show ground). This is to ensure that should you get into difficulty or the vehicle develop a fault, such as a puncture, we are not too far away from you to remedy the problem and get you back on your way.
- To stop take your hands off the power lever
- Only use dropped kerbs to cross roads
- Do not try to go up kerb stones - you risk disconnecting the batteries and injuring yourself
- Slow right down for corners and doorways
- Always use pedestrian crossings when available and line up straight
- Allow plenty of time to cross roads
- Be considerate of other people
